Argos uses a dongle (hardware key) to control licensing of the program, and the standard program cannot run without a dongle.

The dongle uses the USB port. There are two types of usb dongles; a blue dongle for single-user license and a red dongle for a floating license. For the single-user license, every user must have a dongle in their own computer. For the floating license, only one dongle is required, and that dongle can be installed on a local server. Please specify the type of license (dongle) you want when ordering Argos®.

However, you may download the trial version of Argos® here, which does not require a dongle.
