Fire Tools

The aim of the project was to create computer simulation tools, methods and models to make optimum use of the traditional expensive and time-consuming fire testing. On completion of the Fire Tools project, time and money spent on fire testing today could be saved. Saving time and money will benefit the general innovation in the construction sector.

Five international PhD students were engaged to research this project. They contributed important and useful information on the modelling and simulation of fire safety, and for many years to come will be able to conduct research into "fire modelling tools & techniques".
DBI cooperated with Lund University on the project and after its conclusion hired three out of the five PhD students attached to the project.

Fire Tools started up in January 2013 and was financed by the EU.
